Sweet pea high "Royal Family" (mix) - Lathyrus odoratus.
Annual, climbing and very fragrant plant (1.5-2.0 m). Perfect for cutting. Thanks to its unique aroma, unique floral structure, abundant and long-lasting flowering, peas are one of the most beautiful and beloved flowers. Delicate fragrant flowers of 3-4 pieces. Regular harvesting of blooming flowers helps to form new buds and prolong flowering.
Sowing: in March-April in a pot of 3 seeds or in May directly into the open ground. Before sowing, the seeds are poured with hot water (+60°C) and left to soak for 24 hours. It is recommended to fertilize seedlings with nitrogen and organic fertilizers. For better branching, seedlings are cut from 3-4 leaves. In May, seedlings are planted in open ground with a soil clod in light fertile soil, leaving a distance of 20-30 cm between plants, blooms profusely, needs support and regular watering. It is recommended to fertilize with a solution of complex fertilizers every 2-3 weeks.
1,0 g = 10-11 seeds.

How to sow and grow sweet peas?
To get earlier flowering and a guaranteed seed yield in Estonian conditions, sweet peas are grown through seedlings.
To do this, in mid-March, the seeds are first soaked overnight in hot water (+60+80°С), and when they germinate (after 3-4 days), they are sown 1 each in peat pots (4x4 cm) filled with soil mixture of soddy land, peat and sand (2.0: 1.0: 0.5).
Shoots appear in 4-7 days. In the phase of 2-3 pairs of true leaves, the seedlings are pinched to remove the growing point, resulting in more side shoots.
In early May, seedlings are planted in open ground, the distance between plants is 25-30 cm. Metal stakes 1.8 m long are used as supports, on which a mesh with 10x10 cm cells is pulled. Pergolas can also be used as supports, as well as planted peas along the fences and near the verandas.
In dry and hot weather, plants are abundantly watered under the root. Top dressing is carried out with a complex mineral fertilizer: before planting seedlings in holes, 10 days after planting and at the beginning of budding - 20 g / 10 l of water.
Low-growing varieties are especially good for container culture. In order for the plants to bloom in September-October, seeds for seedlings are sown in late May-early June. Low-growing varieties have a shorter growing season and bloom quickly.
Fragrant peas are cold-resistant and withstand autumn frosts down to -5°C, so a blooming fragrant carpet will please your eye for a long time! The main thing - do not forget to feed the plants every 10 days.
